It started with an email from founder of the Lumina Foundation and the initiator of the Wole Soyinka Prize (and a writer in her own right) Promise Ogochukwu. Eventually I spoke with her on the phone. Sefi Attah won the maiden edition of the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa with her novel, Everything Good Will Come

 

Shortlist

We received a good number of books from various publishers across Africa. The qualities are varied in terms of presentation, thematic focus and technical competence. After considerable deliberations, three books were found worthy of our shortlist. They are, in no particular order:-

    Everything Good Will Come by Sefi Atta; Published by Farafina, Lagos Nigeria.

    Love Song for My Wasteland by Remi Raji; Published by Book Craft Ibadan.
